Movie Monday

To make this blog more interesting, I have created daily topics. For example, as the title of this post tells you, today is Movie Monday Having said that, on Mondays I will pick one of my favorite movies and discuss it with you. I encourage you to tell me what you think, if you have seen the movie and your movie suggestions! I want Mondays to be engaging and fun as well. Some of the movies I will discuss could be old or new as my taste varies. Sit back an enjoy!


For today's "Movie Monday", I have chosen to discuss my all-time favorite movie,"The Fugitive" The movie is just plain awesome. If you've seen it you know why. If you are reading this and you haven't, then I suggest you rent it tonight! Make sure you turn on your surround sound because that will make the viewing experience even more amazing.





What is it about you ask?

The movie was filmed in 1993. Starring Harrison Ford, Sela Ward, and Tommy Lee Jones. Harrison Ford's character, Dr. Richard Kimble is accused of killing his wife - played by Sela Ward. He is found guilty and sentenced to death. As he is being transported to a different prison, the prison bus driver looses control and flips the bus, allowing Kimble to escape. Kimble is on the run and is determined to prove his innocence. The sequence of events that follow are thrilling to say the least. The chase is lead by U.S. Marshal Sam Gerard, played by Tommy Lee Jones.

A murdered wife.

A one-armed man.

An obsessed detective.

The chase begins.


Why do I love it so much?

From the very start of the film, you feel for Dr. Kimble. Harrison Ford does an amazing portrayal of a broken-hearted man who has lost everything. Alongside his amazing performance is a wicked soundtrack. One that requires surround sound. You will not regret it. Your heart will race as you sit at the edge of your seat watching the action unfold. I have seen this film over 20 times. I first saw it back in 1995, when I was 11. My uncle bought the VHS and we watched it at his home - with his new surround sound system. I think it was then that I first fell in love with movies.
